Yuan chunbo: heroes always have scar

on 03 May 2013 Tags: RUFF

Yuan Chunbo, is nicknamed “windmill”, his unexpected tactics used to make the commentator shout at the scene : “Roll it! Yuan Chunbo!” This talent young man with solid ground skills is trained under the tutelage of China famous fighter Jiang Longyun and represents Longyun Club fight in Ruff. Though his way to the Super Fight is stumbling and did not win the final victory, people always describe him as:

“He is fighting using his head”, “a smart fighter”, “a player with huge potential…”

This smart fighter recent encounters some setback which almost every athlete will face: the injury. In the Super Fight, his rotator cuff strained when he tried to grab his opponent’s leg and he over extended the shoulder joint. The strain affected him performing well in the follow up rounds. In the spirit of being responsible to the athletes, Ruff arranged Chunbo’s surgery in Shanghai and covered the cost of transportation, accommodation and other relative cost. Thankfully, the surgery was a great success. “I need to say thank you to Ruff this time, and I will be able to return the stage belong to me by early next year.” Chunbo said, “I’m recovering well.”

While we bless him a quick recovery, Chunbo recalled with us his past matches he fought in Ruff, “I was very excited to know that I was qualified in Super Fight, but my opponent (Sayed) is really a well-rounded tough guy”. Being known as an expert on the ground, he also realized his short board through the hard competition, “my goal is to build myself more comprehensively, strength the standing skills, so I can be well prepared for each fight.” When talking about his debating combating style, he remains unperturbed “as I said before, my strength is BJJ, and I’m not so good at standing skills, and lack of variety and visual enjoyment to the audience, that’s why people dislike my combating style, and it’s understandable.” As to Ruff’s coming new season, he is modest to the question whether or not he can be qualified again to the finals, “I don’t really care about the results, it is important to get involved and participation.

Finding the weakness from the failure is admirable for a mature fighter. This 23-year-old youngster is making progress step by step along with his unique combating style. He left Shanghai on May 1st for repose at home. Let’s give him some time to overcome the pain of injury and prove himself through the future fights. All in all, there are always barriers in life, scars are inevitable for a hero.
