Beijing -- On a recent trip to the Chinese capital, RUFF Founders Joel Resnick and Lin Yan Ming stopped by the China Top Team’s training facility in Beijing’s Haidian District to meet with China’s best MMA fighters and coaches.
The China Top Team is considered a virtual breeding ground for the new wave of Chinese MMA, and provided the perfect arena for RUFF scouts to observe the country's most talented up and comers.
While many Chinese Sanda fighters have already perfected their kicking and punching games, a large percentage of Chinese Sanda fighters have recently been flocking to the Top Team to improve their Jiu Jitsu skills and ground game with the help of the Brazilian coach Ruy Menezes (pictured left).
In addition to speaking with Mr. Menezes about Top Team and future of China MMA, RUFF had the opportunity to meet with Zhang Tie Quan (pictured below, center with RUFF's Brandon and Joel Resnick), the WEC-turned-UFC lightweight who has been the most highly-profiled Chinese MMA fighter since making his WEC debut in September 2010.
Nicknamed “The Mongolian Wolf,” Zhang expected to drop down to the featherweight class for his upcoming UFC debut in February.
