JeetKuneDo_-_CopyBeijing -- Less than two months after what would have been Kung Fu legend Bruce Lee’s 70th birthday, the Bruce Lee Foundation, an organization whose mission is to preserve Lee's legacy, was recently in the Chinese capital to meet with, among others, Ranik Ultimate Fighting Federation (RUFF) founders Joel Resnick and Lin Yan Ming about the future of Chinese MMA.

Recognizing that the evolution of martial arts has led to a rising interest in MMA in China and worldwide, the Bruce Lee Foundation, who specifically concentrate on Lee’s own brand of Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do, expressed interest in RUFF, their contributions to MMA in China, and their upcoming debut fight in Shanghai.

Lee, best known for his Hollywood and Hong Kong Kung Fu films like Fist of Fury, Way of the Dragon and Enter the Dragon, developed Jeet Kune Do in 1967 as a type of mixed martial art that uses kicking, punching, trapping and grappling.

Referred to as a “style without style,” Jeet Kune Do is considered by many to be a precursor to MMA.
